Published June 27, 1995

SDSC (the San Diego Supercomputer Center) announced today the availability of the v1.0 Beta 1 version of WebView for SGI/UNIX, a 3D World-Wide Web VRML browser for viewing 3D objects. Full source code for WebView is available from SDSC free for non-commercial use. Also released today by SDSC is a suite of VRML-related tools: obj2wrl converts a Wavefront obj (object) file to a VRML file, tri2wrl converts an Alias tri (triangle) file to a VRML file, and wrlgrid generates tile or grid geometries in VRML format. These tools are also free from SDSC for non-commercial use.
