Register Now for the 1997 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing

The 1997 Grace Murray Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, sponsored by the Computer Research Association (CRA), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society will be held September 19-21, 1997, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California. Make plans now to come and celebrate the legacy of Admiral Hopper, a pioneer in the field of computing and an inspiration to scientists everywhere, in a three-day conference featuring technical talks, panels, technical topic sessions, workshops, and birds-of-a-feather sessions.

August 1, 1997, is he deadline to register and receive the reduced rate for the Grace Hopper Celebration. Regular registration fees begin at $425. Student fees begin at $175, and scholarships and travel grants are available for students and junior professionals through the generous contributions of NSF, Intel, USENIX Association, and AAAI. Space is limited and early registration is strongly recommended. The deadline to submit scholarship applications is July 18, 1997.

The Grace Hopper Celebration is an excellent opportunity for computer scientists, professionals in the computing industry, and students to come together to exchange ideas, update knowledge, share success stories, and engage in a forum designed for networking and mentoring.

Presentation of cutting-edge technical information and innovations expected in the future, in combination with the celebration of women's accomplishments in the field of computing to date, make the conference the superlative event for the exploration of the role of women, and the promotion of brighter futures for women in computing.
