Movie of Today's Earthquake in San Diego Available Online

A 3.9 earthquake, whose epicenter was about 5 miles west southwest of Mission Beach in San Diego, hit early this morning and was captured within minutes on video with the help of OnDemand, a new supercomputing resource based at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. The "ShakeMovie" video is available at the Southern California ShakeMovie website, Caltech's Near Real Time Simulation of Southern California Seismic Events Portal, under the direction of Caltech computational seismologist Jeroen Tromp.
