From June 19 through July 28, the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at UC San Diego will offer an array of summer camps for middle and high school students. The camps have been developed to provide students an opportunity to learn about advanced science, technology, computer science and engineering topics in a fun and supportive environment.
“We started having our summer programs several years ago – for 10 weeks – and recently adapted them to accommodate earlier school start dates and year round school schedules,” said SDSC’s Education Manager Ange Mason. “Our programming, robotics, engineering, graphic arts and new technology summer camps have given thousands of students the jumpstart they need as they continue their educational journey.”
Taught by current and retired educators, camp topics for this year include:
- Fun with Photoshop for Middle School Students
- Blast Off, Space Crew! Beginning Robotics
- Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming with Java
