Conference Facilities

Rent SDSC’s conference facilities for your next event.

Facilities available to UC San Diego groups include a synthesis center and a 200-seat auditorium which can be configured into smaller spaces. Auditorium rental includes an outdoor patio with tables and chairs.

To make a facilities reservation request:

  1. Review SDSC's Facilities Rental Use Policy.
  2. Complete and sign a Facilities Reservation Request.
  3. Complete the Campus Event Intake Form, regardless of event size.

SDSC Conference Facility

Auditorium

The 200-seat auditorium can be configured into a single large space or multiple smaller spaces. Configuration options include classroom, angled tables, or round tables. Rental includes an outdoor patio.

Synthesis Center

The Synthesis Center can be configured for 30 presentation attendees in Standard Format (facing screens), or for 16 meeting participants in Executive Format (around a large table facing each other).


Conference Room Rental Rates

  • Conference Facilities are available for rent by UC San Diego groups. Non-UCSD affiliates will need to partner with a UC San Diego department.
  • SDSC does not provide labor for custom room setup and reset. Custom setup services are offered by both UCSD Facilties Management and UCSD Moving Services. The event requestor is responsible for all setup/reset arrangements. Room rental charges will apply for the time needed for setup/reset.
Recharge rates are subject to change with approval from the UC San Diego Recharge Rate Committee. Normal IDC rules apply.

Auditorium

Standard Setup: Seating for 130 in a combination of armed and tablet chairs in 2/3 of room. 6 tables (6’x2’) and 5 café tables in other 1/3. Additional tables on north and west walls.

Custom Setup (additional cost for labor): Max 200 occupants. Combination of armed and tablet chairs available. 30 tables (6’x2’) and 5 café tables also available. No table linens provided.

Outdoor Patio: 12 (60" round) tables and 32 folding chairs. No table linens provided. There is no additional rental fee to use the patio.

Audio/Visual:

  • 3 Projectors (left, center, right)
  • 4 Microphones (2 lavalier mics, 2 handheld mics)
  • Windows laptop provided (attached to lecturn)

Standard setup: Seating for 30 people in 3 rows of tables facing projection screen.

Custom setup (additional cost for labor): Max 30 occupants. Seating for 24 people in executive format (facing group). Other custom arrangements available.

  • Windows laptop provided (attached to podium)

AV/IT support

SDSC will assist you for a 15 minute sound and AV projector check at no cost during regular business hours. (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM) Additional time will be charged at the hourly rate.
